We left Popyan fairly early, and visited La Lajas, the church which is built in the ravine.
Today we managed to get down to the moto shop first thing in the morning and make arrangements for a new rear tire for me, as well as oil changes for both bikes. We were able to spend the rest of the day touring Cali and then picked up the bikes in the late afternoon.
As well, I need to mention that the Mother of my wonderful Daughter celebrates another birthday today. I understand that they are touring the Grand Canyon and having a great dual birthday celebration. Happy Birthday, Mag.
George put a new rear tire on Blondy in December, on our way down to Patagonia. A Great shop, with folks paying attention to the bike...
George has toured all over South America, and he is a rider from a way back...
Bruce is discussing bikes with a dude that I met in December...
He has travelled all over South America, and lives in Cali. I gave him my Heideneau in December..
A shop full of bikes....
Harley, anyone?
Georges' Norton, in need of TLC..
Cali has a number of attractions and a good day was spent wandering about the city as the bikes were being worked on.
This guy was selling what looked like surf casting rods, in the middle of Cali...pescado anyone?
Bruce and Anne getting our bearings. I like having guides, so I can just soak it all in, and not get too lost....
Some more doors for Doug...
We visited a 15th Century museum....
This ceramic sure looks like an Oriental house, doesn't it?
With a new rear tire and a fresh oil change, I am good until Mexico City. I am thinking that a new fuel pump is in order, and I have made enquiries with my Mexican friends to see if I can get one in DF. We are travelling towards Bogota, where Bruce and Anne are flying their bike back to the states. I am looking forward to a number of days being a tourist in Bogota, and then I will have to make tracks for Cartegena, as the Steel Rat is heading that way too.
