The preparation that has gone into making the bikes that best that they can be is really impressive. Not only are the riders physically and mentally prepared, they have spent time and money on their rides.

During his night pre-ride, Guy ran across what he thought was a drunken Aussie, out in the middle of the desert, without any shoes. Turns out his was in fact a drunken South African and his friends had thrown him off the chase truck. Guy doubled him in the middle of the night to find his truck and his friends. They ran into each other at the awards ceremony...
I think that these two, more than anyone else, understand what transpired out in the desert on race night..
