Copan

It has been a busy last couple of days.  I am going to publish the pics and let them speak for themselves.  I ended up in a smaller town called Chimula where I was to rendevouz with Sithia, and we would ride to the Copan ruines together.

Right on time, Sithia arrived at our meeting place, and we set off for Honduras and the ruins at Copan.

We stopped just before the Honduras border for a few pics...

Line up at the Honduras border for migracion...

A couple jumped off this bike and headed for Migracion.  I think that it has German plates.  After a bit of frustration, and about 1 and a half hours of back and forthing, we were ready to hit the road.

We stopped in Copan Ruinas, which is a village supporting the actual ruins, for lunch..

At the entrance to the site, the officials have a number of macaws which they are feeding in the hopes of increasing the flocks to the original size, one that covered the forests with their cries.  A beautiful bird, and a beautiful day with the Mayan ruins.
